COPE Bash at Folli Follie

reporter: Miguel Dominguez

Robert Dundon, President of Folli Follie

On March 27th, as I was walking down Prince St. in SoHo, on my way to the subway from a previous event, I stumbled upon a top notch party, taking place at Folli Follie, a fashion accessories honey trap for the well dressed lady who enjoys being elegant in a youthful and colorful way.

Alicia Benoist and Jim Cronin

Being a blogger who’s always on the lookout for juicy scoops on the NYC culture and lifestyle, Folli Follie turned out to be a honey trap for me as well, having glanced at all the successful looking people celebrating inside.

And boy, was I impressed! I was made to feel so welcome, being a complete unknown walking in from the cold. It told me volumes about the quality of the gathering.

The party throwers were the members of the Council of Protocol Executives (COPE), a professional, nonprofit organization comprised of men and women throughout the world who coordinate special events and high-level meetings for corporations, governments, and major nonprofit institutions. Their purpose is to set a standard of excellence for the industry.

Their events have been hosted by the likes of The Pierre New York, City Hall Restaurant, The Empire Room, The Harvard Club of NY, Council on Foreign Relations, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Eventi, Maritime Parc, The Surrey, Le Bain at The Standard New York, The Morgan Library and Museum, Trump SoHo New York, American Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, New York Stock Exchange, Yankee Stadium Events, The Rubin Museum of Art, The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, and New York Marriott Marquis, among many others.

With such a list of clients, it doesn’t surprise me they chose a jewel box of a fashion store for their celebration and Thomas Preti caterers, who provided the kind of incredible eats I’ve never even tasted at major bashes involving top name celebrities at the best party venues in town.
