A very successful night for Staley-Wise Gallery

To celebrate the publishing of the Lillian Bassman: Lingerie book, Staley-Wise Gallery had an exhibit opening on April 12th of photographs from the book, and made available to be sold upon request, to the general public.

A lot of the people who matter in the fashion and related industries were there, and the crowd quickly overflowed out into the hallway. It was the kind of successful event that people in the know were talking about for days.

ROOT OF STYLE by Ruben & Isabel Toledo Book Signing

reporter: Miguel Dominguez

Isabel and Ruben Toledo

The auction house Doyle New York was the perfect place on April 11th, for the fashion super team of Ruben and Isabel Toledo to have the signing of their newest book “Roots of Style.” Since Doyle was at the time unveiling a vast collection of diamond jewelry to be auctioned, it made for a truly glittery occasion. And yet, being around Ruben and Isabel was definitely where the action was. There was a non-stop queue of eager buyers waiting to have their books signed by the creative couple, a wait made no quicker by the fact that Ruben insisted in not just signing the books, but actually doing an illustration in them. How gracious can one be!

On March 27th, as I was walking down Prince St. in SoHo, on my way to the subway from a previous event, I stumbled upon a top notch party, taking place at Folli Follie, a fashion accessories honey trap for the well dressed lady who enjoys being elegant in a youthful and colorful way.
