HOLIDAY HOUSE 2014: Interiors Review

reporter/photographer: Miguel Dominguez

November 18, on the eve of the opening night gala, Press Day at Holiday House NYC took place.

From November 20th through December 21st, at the Academy Mansion, the designer's show house benefitting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, is one of the best holiday outings to make for an inspiring and highly enjoyable cultural treat.

Iris Dankner, Founder and Co-chair of Holiday House

Interior designer Iris Dankner was first diagnosed with breast cancer sixteen years ago. After her surgery, she decided to devote her time and energy to raising awareness and funds in the fight against breast cancer. She became an important fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen foundation and in 2008 launched “Holiday House,” the first designer show house to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Since its inception, Holiday House has featured the top interior designers in the industry, received critical acclaim, been endorsed by some of the most celebrated global luxury brands, and expanded to a summer showhouse in the Hamptons. Holiday House is about the celebration of life, with each designer selecting a holiday or a special moment in life as an inspiration for their design.

This year, Holiday House NYC features a Thursday night Art Lecture Series. It kicked off last Thursday, November 20, with “Art & Design: An Essential Synergy” featuring renowned designers Ellie Cullman, Sandra Nunnerley, Eric Cohler with moderator Kipton Cronkite.
Visit Holiday House events page for details on the upcoming art lectures.
