THE INSPIRED HOME by Karen Lehrman Bloch - book signing at the Urban Zen Foundation

On November 19th, art scholar Karen Lehrman Bloch had her second signing of The Inspired Home: Interiors of Deep Beauty at Donna Karan's Urban Zen Foundation headquarters in the West Village. Her first book signing took place at Rizzoli Books on September 17th—click here to read the article. A fitting place it was, Ms. Karan being not only a client Karen's, but also having one of the interiors featured in the book.

Karen Lehrman Bloch is a cultural critic, a curator, and the director of Grafia Books, a producer of high-end books on art, design, and style. She has been hailed by the New York Times Book Review as one of the "sharpest of the individualist critics," and her criticism and commentary have appeared in the New York Times, the New Republic, the Wall Street Journal, Slate, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Art + Auction, and Metropolis. She is the author of The Lipstick Proviso: Women, Sex & Power in the Real World and contributed the foreword to La Formentera: The Woodland Refuge of Juan Montoya.


The Inspired Home: Interiors of Deep Beauty features twenty-five of the most beautiful homes in the world—ones owned by top interior designers, fashion designers, artists, and stylists—among them Donna Karan.























Donna talks about the Urban Zen Foundation she established to partner with different
organizations that help promote well being; empower children by enhancing their
spiritual, physical and emotional growth; and the preservation of cultures threatened
by globalization









Four sculptures cast by Donna's husband Stephan Weiss, who was co-CEO of the Donna Karan company. Weiss died of lung cancer in 2001.
