SHARON MOODY'S Trompe L'Oeil Comix and "FIRST LOOK" Group Exhibition

reporter: Miguel Dominguez

On April 3rd, Bernarducci Meisel Gallery had a double presentation on the art of Realist painter Sharon Moody and a First Look Group Exhibition which included Photography and Light Paintings

Sharon Moody oils on panels are so visually correct, right down to the actual size of the comic books she reproduces with archaeological precision of the content, one has to get very close to realize that they are not real comic books glued to a surface, but a highly realistic painting whose source item more often than not she owns. Even now, after photographing the images published in this article, I'd swear as I look at them, that the images are of real comic books, not paintings.

Below is Mia Berg with her nude self portraits.

This is the work of Christopher Place.

Antonio Cazorla is represented by this beautiful seascape.
