NYC Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2015: MONGOL

reporter/photographer: Miguel Dominguez

The show opened with a live-performance of traditional Mongolian string
music followed by techno pop belted out by a singer in a silver sequined
jacket and shades.

On February 13th, MONGOL debuted its fashion show at the tents in Lincoln Center.

Born in Ulan Bator, Bayarmaa Bayarkhuu established Mongol in 2005. With a degree in business and finance, she ran her father's company with her two siblings while working as a stylist and designer. She is creative director of Mongol, her decade-old fashion house, that specializes in women's ready-to-wear, wedding dresses and outerwear.

Making her New York Fashion Week debut with a catwalk collection inspired by her far-off homeland, Mongol showed dresses of asymmetrical design with notable colors that included bold and bright purples, hot pinks, teal, and hunter green that presented the modern, entrepreneurial woman with nomadic-chic for fall/winter 2015.
