Fashion designer Parna Ghose presented the latest collection under her “Pure Elegance” label as part of the “Jewel of India” collective fashion show at the Couture Fashion Week in New York City, taking place on September 16th, in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.

A native of India, Parna Ghose showed a talent and affinity for fashion at a young age. By working with accomplished fashion designers in her native country, she learned the basics of design, pattern making, sewing and other skills. After moving to the USA Ms. Ghose came to further appreciate the deep influence of culture and tradition on women’s fashion. After earning a BS degree from Calcutta University and a master’s degree in Management and Policy from the State University of NY at Stony Brook, Ms. Ghose embarked on a corporate career. But in 2008 she decided to embrace her passion and launched a second career in fashion.

One of Parna Ghose’s career highlights is starting the fastest-growing South Asian fashion brand in the USA with over 70,000 Facebook fans. She has shown her designs on the runway at Vancouver Fashion Week, Dubai Fashion Week, and Washington DC Fashion Week, among other events. Her creations are favorites of numerous international socialites, dignitaries and Bollywood celebrities
