FENG SHUI for a Better Lifestyle

reporter: Miguel Dominguez

Starting September 25th through November 27th, Benjamin Huntington ASID, FSIA, CID of Veritate Design, embarked on a series of presentations geared to professionals in the Interior Design industries about the art and philosophy of Feng Shui, which took place at the GE Monogram Design Center.

Feng Shui adjusts surroundings to stimulate lifestyles. The ancient Chinese art of placement shows how environments are linked to every area of life including: relationships, wealth and well being.

Benjamin has trained in a variety of Feng Shui styles: Pyramid, Black Hat, Nine Star Ki and Contemporary school, and has more than twenty five years of experience in the art of Feng Shui. He teaches Feng Shui at all levels, from basic to advanced courses for established Feng Shui practitioners.

Born and educated in England, Benjamin Huntington completed a BA with honors at Kingston University and then apprenticed with a London based architectural firm. During his ten years there he mastered fine cabinetry design and detailing in a full range of architectural periods. After becoming the youngest associate of the firm he opened and headed their New York office in 1987 and worked on a number of prestigious designs for International clients.

He opened his own New York based design studio in 1991, Veritate Design, specializing in high quality total interior refurbishments. Since then he has completed a broad range of projects from a 15,000 square foot ski chalet to a 12' wide brownstone.

In one of Benjamin's presentations he revealed how Feng Shui can help uncover the impact of clutter in a home. He explained why clearing out a drawer can resolve issues, and how making space on bookshelves can create opportunities, identifies how clutter, damaged & broken items can affect one. Simple Feng Shui solutions can unblock real and virtual pathways and unlock the full potential in a person's life.
