Abingdon Theatre Company—which has produced 77 new American plays in its 20-year history, kicked off its 2012-2013 Season with a wonderful party that felt to all partiers attending like a gathering of old, intimate friends, since according to ATC, "It's our 20th Season and we want to celebrate with all the Artists that we know and love".
It was a night of "Eat, drink, dance, reminisce about old shows (with photos and souvenirs), kick around ideas about new projects, networking, and generally enjoy each other's company!"
There was also a sneak peak at Abingdon's newest programming - the Pop Up Playhouse (PUP) with a presentation at 7:30 pm of two 15 minute Fairytales which will be a part of Fairytale Fridays this Season.
For the 20th Anniversary Season, Abingdon will have four productions this year, one of which will be held in their beloved June Havoc Theatre. ATC also has an exciting new program for families, Pop Up Playhouse, which has two free series for kids: Fairytale Fridays and Storytime Saturdays. Abingdon will continue to book comedians, musicians, solo artists and others for their Sunday Series, and, as always, offer free readings of new works on Monday and Thursdays as part of their Page2Stage program.
