JEROME LUCANI Photo Exhibit

reporter: Miguel Dominguez

On September 17th at Brasserie Beaumarchais, one of the most unassuming but elegant, and nicest restaurants in the HiLine District, Photographer/Artist Jerome Lucani had a wonderful exhibit of his mosaic like photos, with the single exception of a female nude done in relief.

Born in Marseille in1974, Jerome has brought sculpture to photography with the idea that this medium should not suffer with time. Mastering glazing, lacquer, and resin, each piece is unique and most are one of a kind. He then worked on mosaics, exploring the soul of his subjects, fixing in time a story, and understanding of their past.

This timeless vision brought him to mix such iconic people as Brigitte Bardot, Audrey Hepburn, Queen Elizabeth, and many more. Some biographical, some lost in the sea of the rich and famous, bringing the question of superficiality and improbable fame.
