Every year since 1920, the ADC Annual Awards competition identifies and honors the best work of the year in visual communications, with 220 categories spanning all areas in print and broadcast advertising, interactive media, graphic design, publication design, packaging, photography and illustration.
This year, the awards were celebrated during Creative Week at the ADC 91st Annual Awards Gala on May 8, 2012. Winners were presented at a reception, multimedia awards presentation and party. The winners will be also documented in the Art Directors Annual, and their works were displayed at the ADC Gallery exhibition, which opened May 9 at the ADC Headquarters, and ran through May 24.
At the awards gala, the club announced the winner of its 2nd annual ADC Designism Award, honoring work for a nonprofit that drives social or political change. In addition, recipients of this year’s Agency of the Year, Network of the Year, Design Team of the Year and School of the Year honors, based upon a cumulative points system, were revealed.
