ENVIRONMENT FURNITURE promotes "GREEN"

reporter: Miguel Dominguez

Environment is more than just a furniture company. With innovation at its core, Environment applies a clever sense of aesthetic to a diverse mix of sustainable materials and textures to excite the furniture consumer. It is with this in mind that Environment had a promo event on May 19th, at their NoHo Design District showroom.

Environment is a furniture brand that promotes a dedication to using materials and processes with low environmental impact, and works to eliminate illegal and controversial use of tropical wood, trying to replace it with third party audited and certified timber. The materials used in Environment’s collections are either reclaimed, recycled or repurposed wood and canvas, providing diversity in appearance and texture. The company uses new wood procured from only strictly managed certified forests. Many pieces feature one-of-a-kind boards that have been exposed to the natural elements for decades and acquired a truly “weathered” look that no manufactured artificial distressing can replicate. From basic plank inlays to patchwork and mosaic effects, Environment uses the wood’s natural character to create a collection that’s contemporary, yet warm and accessible, and of course environmentally responsible.

A favorite with high-profile, eco-conscious clients like Leonardo DiCaprio and Julia Roberts, Environment is garnering attention in four eco-conscious cities in the United States and starting to build up great interest all over the world. The brand has won rave reviews from Time Magazine, New York Times, Elle Décor, Domino, Los Angeles Magazine, C Magazine and The Wall Street Journal amongst other publications. Home design and green bloggers are reviewing their designs on a daily basis.
